In 2024, Mindfulness for Life returned with renewed energy and purpose, this time delivered at a local community icon… The Green in Nunhead… a warm welcoming, purpose-built community centre that became a home for Friday morning mindfulness and motivation.
This free 10-week Mindfulness Programme maintained its core focus of stress-management following previous programmes delivered by HABITS. Participants were supported and empowered to develop skills and techniques to manage stress and maintain mental and emotional balance in daily routine life. Over 10 weeks in the Ivy Room… a bright and calming space adorned with a glass-fronted balcony overlooking the green… participants eagerly and commiftedly gathered together weekly to learn and grow.
The programme was very well-attended, bringing together a diverse group of individuals keen to cultivate mindfulness and manage stress more effectively. With funding again received from The National Lottery Community Fund it meant those who would otherwise not be able to attend a programme like this due to financial constraints were given a fabulous opportunity to participate for free. Mindfulness for Life 2024 fostered a strong sense of community and connection among participants beyond the sessions themselves, with genuine supportive friendships developing as part of the shared experience.
What was most outstanding was the lasting enthusiasm from those who took part. The programme was so well received that it became the foundation for something even larger: the development of the 1-Year Mindfulness for Life Course. Inspired by participants’ eagerness to continue their mindfulness journey, this new extended offering reflects both the growing demand for long-term mental and emotional well-being support and the strength of the community formed through the original programme. HABITS are thrilled to be able to offer these programmes for free or at low-cost enabling those who are financially impacted to have access to well-needed mental and emotional support.
