HABITS of London C.I.C. was honoured to be invited to deliver a Mindfulness taster session to staff at the New York Times.
In an opportune meet with Lionne, our Marketing Director , NYT Administration and Facilities Manager Nicole (pictured above with Helen) expressed a genuine interest in the services we deliver including supporting emotional wellbeing in the workplace through mindfulness and psychotherapy — with particularly focus on managing stress, mental overload and burnout. The conversation led to HABITS delivering a 1-hour lunchtime taster session to staff members from several departments of the New York Times’ London-based offices.
The session gave a brief introduction to mindfulness theory and practices… with emphasis on managing stress effectively utilising mindfulness techniques with understanding of the inextricable connection to the neural system. Feedback was emphatic… participants expressed feeling encouraged and empowered with reflection on the power of mindfulness and how even a brief mindful pause can create a lasting impact during a busy workday.
It’s truly wonderful to see our mindfulness-based programmes and approach resonating across borders and industries. We remain committed to creating safe, culturally attuned spaces for mindfulness, wherever they’re needed.
